  • KINDLE!!!1!

i've been trying to get networks to give them away forever.

    glad ML listened.

plus, you can't find one for less than $750 on eBay since amazon is out of stock.

    game changer!!
  • Yeah, I'm entering this contest on every blog hosting it (except my own, of course) just to get in the running for the Kindle. Gotta have one!
  • I didn't think of that. Actually I could use the HD Flip more than the kindle right now.
  • Is that allowed? lol

If so, I'm entering on ALL Y'ALL's blogs... the hubby wants an iPod and the in-laws would love a flip...

    LETS DO THIS!
  • Thanks for hosting the contest, Mike! We're pretty excited about the prizes, too! You, Sam and Tim are going to have to fight me for them! :)
  • Hey... Here's my tip to enter the contest:
    "Skip the landing page game!"

When running CPA offers from MarketLeverage, most affiliates immediately jump
to design a landing page based on Google's "quality score". And that's where they
    drive all their traffic to.

Those landing pages are good... but ONLY for Adwords!

My suggestion is to buy a separate domain and point it directly to the offer (skip
the conversion-reducing landing page) and use that domain to drive traffic from
all other sources like articles, blog posts and social media marketing.

If you're cheap (or on a budget), simply create a meta-refresh page on the same
domain where you host your landing page and advertise that on all non-google
    places.

Try it and you'll see just how good things get when you don't have to jump through
big G's hoops all the time. ;)

    Cheers!

  • Thanks for coming by and entering Miguel!
  • 1. It's about time you added Disqus, as it is awesome.
    2. I entered on Shawn's blog as that was the first place I saw the contest, but I'll toss in here too.

As I said there, my secret isn't really a secret - work smarter, not harder. I picked up the saying from one of my college roommates and I'm sure some genius generations before me coined the phrase, but I apply that mantra to everything. I try to make things more efficient and do things better so that my time is more effectively used and I can work smart without necessarily making things harder on myself.

To apply that to the affiliate example, I use MaxBannerAds on my blog. When I label the ads, not only do I add the merchant name but I also add the network name, i.e. Market Leverage, to help me to group them together when I go to look at reporting so I can easily group things for myself. That's just one small example of how I work smarter, not harder.
  • I know, I'm definitely not an early adapter.
  • Oops, hope i am not late.
As its Holiday season, I though I would write something on the related topic.

The Secret of Seasons To Make money from Affiliates !!

People want different products and services at different times of the year, so it makes sense to adjust your marketing campaigns to take advantage of the various seasons and special holidays. For example in the summer people are thinking about going to the beach, eating out and having picnics and BBQs, and advertising relevant products (with relevant keywords) can help you to attain much higher results on the search engine rankings, and encourage more visitors to your website increasing your overall earning potential.

Some holidays are also more commercial than others, the main one of course being Christmas, and it would be foolish to miss out on the opportunity to make some more money at this time. Here are a few tips on how to cash in on the changing seasons and holidays, and improve your affiliate earning potential.
    * Keywords – when you notice important dates coming up such as Christmas or Easter, sit down and write a keyword list, including all of those words you think people will most likely be typing into the search engine around this time such as ‘Easter eggs’ or ‘tree decorations’. Go back over the content of your website and add new articles or amend existing ones to incorporate these keywords. Make sure all of your articles are unique and relevant, and avoid any copy/pasting as this will have a negative, rather than positive, effect on your search engine rankings. If you are going to mention any particular gifts or products make sure you do your research to get the right prices for the current year, as a lot of content on the Internet is often left over from the previous year and will be out of date.

    * Products – there are many different affiliate schemes around, advertising hundreds of different products, and you may find that including one or two products on your website that are relevant to the holidays will boost your site traffic and earning potential. Only include new schemes if you genuinely think visitors to your site will be interested in them though, and avoid any products that you cannot make relevant – for example if you have a gadget related website include technology based Christmas decorations like flashing lights and audio mechanisms, but don’t bother too much with other decorations like holly wreaths or hand crafted nativity sets, as these are not likely to interest visitors to your particular website.

    * Seasonal newsletter – newsletters are a powerful tool to help increase site traffic and generate repeat visitors, so take advantage of the holidays by producing a seasonal newsletter, full of relevant news items and articles. Try and write only a taster of each item though and refer back to the website for more info, as this will create a series of ‘hooks’ to encourage readers to visit the website. It is also a good idea to include some kind of contest or giveaway, as well as details of promotions and discount through the newsletter as this will encourage more people to sign up, and an extensive mailing list is a major asset to any successful affiliate marketing program.

Just head over to Marketleverage to find some great Xmas and New year campaigns to see your New year flourishing.
